Databeacon Open Client Professional contains all the components from Databeacon Open Client Standard, plus the following components:

  • Profile Import/Export utilities that convert dynamically built cube profiles into executable form.
  • Scripting documentation to explain the structure of CORE profiles, enabling developers to create profiles dynamically.
  • Command line cube building documentation to allow developers to control their scheduled and/or adhac builds through program control
  • PageEnhancer API and documentation

Databeacon PageEnhancer API (Application Program Interface) is the major component in the Databeacon Open Client Professional product, and enables solution providers to quickly, tightly integrate Web Reporting and Data Analysis inside existing portal applications, unleashing new value from Databeacon self-serve explorable reports while promoting adoption inside and outside the organization.

Databeacon Open Client Professional offers the PageEnhancer API for customized portal integration

Developers use PageEnhancer API to ensure maximum adoption and usage of data-enabled portals, whether they’re deployed in intranets, organizational extranets or the public Internet. Using JavaScript, Java or VBScript, a Databeacon report can be modified and expanded through a programmable interface that allows external software scripts to control how the Databeacon Insight viewer (the applet that delivers Web Reporting and Data Analysis capability to the operational manager’s PC) is presented, and can also control computational activities inside the Databeacon Insight viewer.

Simplify - Databeacon PageEnhancer API enables developers to control the GUI and deliver a solution better aligned to the diverse skills and responsibilities of the application audience. One can offer "big buttons" with familiar labels, as an example, along with list access to essential pre-defined reports.

To bring clarity to report selection, text descriptions can be added to explain what’s in the report, quickening adoption by first-time or infrequent visitors. Databeacon PageEnhancer API allows developers to offer all the value and power of OLAP-enabled reporting and analysis in a simple-to-use-wrapper.

Extend functionality - Databeacon PageEnhancer API can extend the functionality of your Web Reporting and Data Analysis application. For example, a button in the viewing interface can retrieve a document or pass data to a graphing or mapping software application. Being able to extend an application’s functionality opens new ways of developing insight and value from your organization’s data assets.

Integrate – For Mid-market organizations that sell or provide data over the Internet under their own brand, Databeacon PageEnhancer API provides the ability to fully integrate within the branding, look and feel of a current solution. Simply implement custom colors, icons or icon placement as required for your particular data service to seamlessly integrate Web Reporting and Data Analysis capabilities in an existing solution.

Personalize - Get the right data to the right people using the capabilities of Databeacon PageEnhancer API. Leveraging server-side logic and a login or profile, you can control:

  • The look and feel of the interface
  • The data the operational manager can access (includes building cubes on demand)
  • Hide elements (such as tool bar, view bar, category bar and banner) and disable functionality to custom fit the skills of everyone in your portal community
  • Enable/disable functionality to promote tiered offerings where the level of the person or their role or their subscription options determines which information they have access to
  • Use current interface standards to seamlessly integrate Databeacon Web Reporting and Data Analysis capability with existing applications
  • Maintain current branding and standards of existing Web portals, including implementation of custom coloring, icons or icon placement
  • Add or change menu buttons to invoke existing applications, leveraging best-of-breed extensions through a common interface
  • Clear and concise Databeacon documentation and examples allow JavaScript, Java or VBScript developers to “fast start" new solutions
